On the one-year anniversary of the passing of Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C., the 18/42 Stories of Notre Dame digital storytelling series reflects on the enduring legacy of the University's former president. 

The video tells the story behind the iconic photograph of Hesburgh joining hands with Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., during a Chicago civil rights rally. In January 2016, students, faculty and staff of Notre Dame joined together to create a commemorative mosaic in honor of both men and their efforts to make the world a more welcoming place.
