Gender Studies is pleased to announce the addition of a new concurrent faculty member - Dr. Cara Ocobock.

Dr. Cara Ocobock is an assistant professor of anthropology and the director of Notre Dame’s Human Energetics Laboratory.  Her research program integrates human biology and anthropology, with a focus on the interaction between anatomy, physiology, evolution, and the environment.  Dr. Ocobock explores the physiological and behavioral mechanisms necessary to cope with and adapt to extreme climate and physical activity. Dr. Ocobock teaches Fundamentals of Biological Anthropology and the Anthropology of Sports, both from a feminist perspective, and she is developing a Hu(wo)man Evolution class, which she hopes to teach in the next few years.
